Each of Scott Ahrens' experimental works is a declaration in favor of the synthetic hybrid. The appropriation of popular culture lies at the basis of Ahrens Art. He combines voyeuristic television, references and quotations, photography, digital garbage, bad drawing and painting and poorly sampled sound. He then sets an interactive, multi-sensory digital environment that must be explored by the viewer to be understood. By allowing this direct involvement with the artwork, the viewers connection to the message becomes more personal and hopefully more memorable.
